Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers have been a major part of the All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory since it began in 1998, helping with everything from field research such as Fern Forays and Bio-Quests, to photography and artwork, to education and outreach, to hosting scientists. See below for details. Dr. Chris Carlton demonstrates how to collect beetles at a DLIA Beetle Blitz. |

- Scientists' Requests - Every year scientists
visit the Park to collect specimens using a variety of methods. The scientists require able volunteers
to assist them in collecting specimens, recording data, working with them in
the lab, and other important tasks. This web page lists the scientists working in the Park, their
areas of study, and their specific requests for assistance.
- Science/Taxonomy - Assist with trail surveys, sorting specimens, special collecting
efforts, computer maps. Team Leader: Jim Lowe, jhlowejr@hotmail.com.
- Adopt-a-Plot - Regular visits to the scientific plots located throughout the Park
to collect and replace sampling equipment. Team Leader: Jim Lowe, jhlowejr@hotmail.com and
Jim Burbank.

to use on our web pages and for education projects. Team Leaders: Kevin Fitz Patrick, kfpphoto@aol.com and
